Free People Expands Retail Presence to Palm Desert’s El Paseo

Under the desert sun, the Shops on El Paseo will welcome a new 2,513-square-foot Free People boutique this Friday, July 3, 2026. The Philadelphia-based retailer is planting a flag in the Palm Desert market, blending its signature bohemian aesthetic with a bespoke, architecturally updated storefront designed for personalized styling.

The new location at 73-061 El Paseo moves beyond a traditional retail footprint by emphasizing one-on-one styling appointments and a highly curated interior. Designers utilized an adaptive reuse approach for the space, retaining the original structure while installing a refreshed glazing system. The interior palette leans into warmth, featuring wood flooring, mica finishes, and distinctive Gladys pink plaster accents.

Functionality meets design in the fitting area, which includes five rooms equipped with blackened hardware and backlit blacksmith cottage mirrors. A central white oak cashwrap serves as the store's primary anchor point. Customers can browse the brand's full range of denim, knitwear, and accessories when doors open at 10:00 a.m. Regular hours are set for Monday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
