The collaboration grants Ratio dedicated access to Ac-225, establishing a scalable framework to support its clinical-stage radiotherapeutic programs. By securing this supply chain, Ratio seeks to mitigate the constraints that historically hindered the development of targeted cancer treatments. Matthias Friebe, Chief Development Officer at Ratio, noted that building a resilient network remains a priority for the firm’s long-term pipeline strategy.
PanTera, a joint venture between IBA and SCK CEN, produces Ac-225 in compliance with cGMP standards. Christophe Malice, Chief Business Officer of PanTera, stated that providing a reliable isotope source is essential for the industry to transition next-generation therapeutics from the laboratory to patients. PanTera’s production strategy includes both Thorium-229 decay methods and a planned large-scale Ra-226 photonuclear reaction facility, expected to be operational by 2028. For Ratio, this agreement complements its existing manufacturing efforts, which include a proprietary facility in Salt Lake City and a partnership with PharmaLogic.
