Since the organization became a core focus of Suntex’s corporate social responsibility efforts, the company and its employees have raised nearly $1 million for the cause. This year alone, the firm is on track to contribute approximately $200,000, funding academic paths ranging from K-12 tuition to professional certifications for spouses and children of military personnel and first responders.
Redmond’s leadership has embedded these fundraising initiatives into the company’s national culture, leveraging the boating industry to build awareness. Lt Col Dan Rooney, founder of Folds of Honor, noted that the election recognizes Redmond’s personal dedication to the mission. Since its inception in 2007, Folds of Honor has awarded nearly 73,000 scholarships, totaling over $340 million in support across all 50 states.
