CNBC developed the methodology alongside research firms AccuPoint Solutions and Cerulli Associates, mandating that all candidates pass rigorous regulatory due diligence reviews based on SEC disclosures. The process strictly excludes any payments for inclusion.

Currently, the firm oversees more than $32 billion in client assets.
