Savvas Learning Company Named College Prep Company of the Year

The 2026 EdTech Breakthrough Awards have recognized Savvas Learning Company as the Overall College Prep Company of the Year. The honor highlights the firm’s Outlier dual-enrollment solution, a digital platform designed to bridge the gap between high school classrooms and university-level coursework through asynchronous, credit-bearing instruction.

Savvas Learning Company Named College Prep Company of the Year

The Outlier program allows students to earn transferable college credits from the University of Pittsburgh while simultaneously fulfilling high school requirements. By integrating these courses into the Savvas Realize learning management system, the company aims to reduce the logistical hurdles often associated with credit transfers. Unlike traditional Advanced Placement exams, students earn credit based on their cumulative course performance, a shift that proponents argue lowers the stakes for individual test-taking.

Bethlam Forsa, CEO of Savvas Learning Company, stated that the technology effectively turns standard high school classrooms into college lecture halls. The curriculum includes subjects such as Computer Science, Psychology, and Precalculus, all featuring lectures from university professors. These offerings are integrated into Savvas PathMaker, a broader suite of tools that assists educators in building personalized pathways for students. With this latest win, Savvas continues to expand its footprint in the K-12 sector, building on the success of its CTE platform, which received similar recognition from the same awards program in 2025.
