The expansion centers on the implementation of Tricorne Premium LED screens, which address a long-standing limitation in cinema display technology. Unlike standard LED panels that force loudspeakers to the perimeter, the Tricorne system features a micro-perforated, acoustically transparent design. This allows audio equipment to be positioned directly behind the screen, ensuring that sound localization remains consistent with the on-screen action without compromising audio fidelity.
Each screen boasts a 3.3mm pixel pitch and extends wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling. By integrating high-contrast LED visuals with this audio transparency, the exhibitor aims to enhance both 2D and 3D presentations. Luis Millán, CEO of Odeon Multicines, noted that the initial audience response at the Sambil location prompted the decision to scale the deployment. GDC Technology CEO Dr. Man-Nang Chong described the solution as a technical bridge between immersive HDR visuals and the high-fidelity audio standards required for modern theatrical releases.
