The partnership focuses on the deployment of Tesla Megapack systems across Italy and the United Kingdom. Beyond hardware, Tesla will provide engineering, procurement, and construction services, alongside long-term revenue warranties. NatPower expects the total construction value for the full project scope to reach $5 billion, with anticipated revenues exceeding $15 billion over the next two decades. Fabrizio Zago, CEO of NatPower, noted that the collaboration creates a replicable ecosystem designed to overcome industry-wide challenges in infrastructure delivery timelines.
This expansion aligns with broader market trends as European nations move to mitigate risks from volatile fossil fuel pricing. SolarPower Europe projects the continent’s battery storage market will quadruple by 2030, with annual installations potentially reaching 138 GWh. Tesla is positioned to capitalize on this demand through its dedicated Megafactories in Lathrop, California, and Shanghai, which currently hold a combined annual capacity of 80 GWh. The U.S. market is tracking similar growth, with the American Clean Power Association reporting record-breaking installations that are expected to reach 655 GWh of cumulative capacity by 2031.
