Ningbo-based TrueLab Biopharmaceutical has signed an exclusive global licensing agreement with the newly launched Bionyra Pharma for two next-generation antibody candidates. The agreement centers on TL-001, an anti-TL1A monoclonal antibody, and TL-003, a bispecific antibody targeting both TL1A and IL-23p19. Both assets are currently undergoing Phase I clinical trials in Australia. Under the contract, TrueLab will receive an upfront payment alongside development, regulatory, and commercial milestone incentives, plus tiered royalties on future net sales. Additionally, TrueLab secures a single-digit equity stake in Bionyra Pharma as part of the transaction.

Simultaneous to the licensing deal, Bionyra Pharma finalized a $165 million Series A financing round. The investment was co-led by Jeito Capital and Sofinnova Partners, with backing from Sanofi Ventures, Arkin Capital, Sixty Degree Capital, Vives Partners, and Apollo Health Ventures. TrueLab CEO Dr. Francis Fan noted that the partnership validates the company’s TrueForge AI-powered discovery platform, which combines translational science with advanced antibody engineering. Bionyra CEO Dr. Frédéric Marrache emphasized that the collaboration combines TrueLab’s technical discovery capabilities with Bionyra’s expertise in global clinical development to address unmet needs in inflammatory bowel disease and other immune-mediated conditions.
