Saudi Aramco Restores European Supply with Discounted Crude Offers

Weeks after canceling October shipments due to pipeline attacks, Saudi Aramco is aggressively courting European refiners again. The state oil giant has resumed full November contract allocations and is dumping additional spot cargoes into the market, even slashing prices below official levels to lure buyers back to the fold.

Saudi Aramco Restores European Supply with Discounted Crude Offers

The sudden shift follows the restoration of the East-West pipeline, which had been forced offline by regional security threats. With operations normalized, the kingdom is moving to repair its supply chain reputation, offering mid-to-late October barrels from the Red Sea port of Yanbu and Egypt’s Sidi Kerir terminal at notable discounts. This influx of supply has already triggered a cooling effect on European crude prices, which had spiked when refiners were forced to scramble for alternatives earlier this month.

Saudi Arabia’s production rebound has been rapid, with output climbing to over 8 million barrels per day in September—a stark recovery from August levels that marked a three-decade low. While regional instability persists, the kingdom is now looking toward long-term insulation, recently inking a deal to secure storage capacity in Singapore by 2027 to hedge against future infrastructure disruptions.
