The collaboration centers on the NVIDIA MGX modular architecture, providing a scalable path for data centers to handle the intense power demands of Vera Rubin NVL72 platforms. Delta’s new hardware includes an 800 VDC 660kW In-Row Power Rack, which incorporates 480kW of backup power to maintain uptime during fluctuations. To manage the resulting heat, the company introduced a liquid-to-liquid cooling distribution unit capable of handling 2.5 MW, utilizing a three-pump configuration designed for zero-downtime maintenance.
Efficiency gains are driven by Delta’s Solid State Transformer, which bridges medium-voltage AC to 800 VDC without traditional conversion stages. This architecture, paired with a power distribution board achieving 98% conversion efficiency, simplifies the flow from grid to chip. Beyond power, Delta is deploying 5,000A liquid-cooled busbars and micro-channel cold plates. These components work in tandem to reduce flow resistance and enhance heat dissipation, ensuring that the increasingly dense racks required for modern AI workloads remain within safe thermal operating limits.
