AEON Integrates Chilean Bank Transfers to Expand AI-Driven Commerce

Fifteen percent of all online purchases in Chile occur through direct bank transfers, a habit AEON is now leveraging to bridge the gap between digital assets and the physical economy. The settlement layer has added Chilean Peso support to its network, allowing AI agents to execute local payments seamlessly.

AEON Integrates Chilean Bank Transfers to Expand AI-Driven Commerce

The integration enables users to complete transactions at participating merchants by selecting their preferred cryptocurrency in AEON Pay, which then handles the conversion to Chilean Pesos and initiates a local bank transfer. By plugging directly into established institutions like Santander, Banco de Chile, and BancoEstado, AEON aims to normalize the use of digital assets for everyday commerce in a market that prioritizes traditional banking security.

This expansion is part of a broader push to solidify AEON’s presence across Latin America, Africa, and Southeast Asia. The platform currently supports over 50 million merchants globally, including major brands like UNIQLO and McDonald's. By automating the settlement process, AEON removes the need for AI agents to navigate the complexities of specific merchant banking systems. As these agents evolve from simple recommendation engines into entities capable of autonomous purchasing, this infrastructure provides the necessary rails to move value from crypto-funded wallets into the fiat-based real economy.
