Twinnin Debuts AI Likeness Registry for Performers and Brands

London-based registry Twinnin has launched two tools, Human Verified and Defend Twinn, designed to enforce consent-based AI usage of human likenesses. By providing a technical framework for identity verification and legal takedown requests, the startup aims to extend protections similar to SAG-AFTRA agreements to the broader professional modeling industry.

The initiative targets the widespread issue of unauthorized image scraping, offering individuals a platform to register timestamped objections and track takedown requests. According to co-founder Kat Grobler, the goal is to ensure that any commercial use of a person's likeness requires explicit permission and compensation, regardless of union affiliation.

Model Management has become the first partner to adopt the Human Verified accreditation, granting Twinnin access to a network of over three million models. CEO Andreas von Estorff stated that the partnership adds an independent trust layer for brands, confirming that identity verification and usage choices are legally sound. Under the guidance of CTO Dr. Mary Maller, the platform seeks to standardize how companies navigate the rapid evolution of AI technology and digital twin licensing.
