Jennifer Aniston and Pvolve Target the Fitness Gap for Women Over 40

While most women over 40 recognize the importance of strength training, a staggering majority lack the professional guidance to begin. Pvolve and Jennifer Aniston are now launching 'Movement Longevity,' a fitness initiative designed to bridge this gap by prioritizing long-term mobility and muscle health over traditional, high-intensity workouts.

The launch coincides with Pvolve’s inaugural Movement Longevity Report, which exposes a disconnect in the fitness industry. Data indicates that 66% of women have never received advice from a trainer or doctor to incorporate weight training, a figure that climbs to 75% for women aged 65 and older. This lack of instruction creates significant barriers, with over half of surveyed women citing fear of injury or gym intimidation as reasons for avoiding weights.

Beyond exercise, the report highlights a blind spot in medical care. While bone-density screenings are standard practice, assessments for muscle mass and strength remain rare. Dr. Nima Alamdari, chief clinical advisor at Pvolve, notes that age-related muscle loss is a critical predictor of frailty and loss of independence, yet it is rarely treated as a vital sign in routine care. The study also reveals that among women using GLP-1 medications, less than a third were warned by providers about the potential for associated muscle loss.

To address these hurdles, Aniston is releasing a 30-day training program on the Pvolve platform. Developed alongside VP of Training Dani Coleman, the routine focuses on accessible, functional movements rather than heavy lifting. By integrating strength, stability, and mobility, the company aims to move the conversation toward preserving physical function for the long term.
