For years, businesses opting to host their own mail servers to maintain data sovereignty or regulatory compliance faced a technological gap compared to users of Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace. While competitors tied AI automation to cloud-based ecosystems, GFI CEO Eric Vaughan stated that this new integration allows customers to retain full control over their data while leveraging advanced email processing. The assistant functions directly within the KerioConnect webmail interface, desktop clients, and Microsoft Outlook, providing automated sorting and draft responses.
Administrators manage the deployment through the existing KerioConnect console, enabling the AI only for specific mailboxes. By keeping all processing on the customer's own server, GFI avoids the privacy trade-offs typically associated with external AI services. The tool automatically separates newsletters from actionable messages and prepares replies in the user’s personal tone, which are then queued in the drafts folder for final review. The service is available immediately for organizations running version 10.0.9-10757 or later of the platform.
