A 65% surge in strategic agreements defined the fourth edition of Fintech Forward in Manama, where 2,900 attendees gathered to witness a series of high-stakes financial partnerships. The event produced more than 60 Memorandums of Understanding and strategic pacts, moving beyond mere networking to concrete economic outcomes. Among the most notable developments, BBK showcased a Google Cloud Universal Ledger pilot in partnership with ARRAY Innovation, signaling a shift toward tokenized payments and programmable settlement within core banking. Meanwhile, the National Bank of Bahrain joined forces with BENEFIT and MonetaGo to launch a trade finance registry pilot, a move designed to mitigate regional financial risk.

Institutional collaboration remained a recurring theme throughout the sessions. Beyon Money and barq Group announced a deal to integrate their platforms, while BENEFIT expanded its reach through a new technological cooperation agreement with Huawei. These private-sector initiatives were bolstered by the launch of the fourth Fintech Ecosystem Report, which outlines the Kingdom’s trajectory toward AI-driven regulation and cross-border payment integration.

The forum also introduced the inaugural Tech Talent Hub, featuring recruitment and development programs from industry giants such as Citi, J.P. Morgan, and KPMG. This focus on human capital reflects the broader economic reality in Bahrain, where financial and insurance activities accounted for 17.6% of real GDP in 2025. By blending regulatory support from the Central Bank of Bahrain with infrastructure-heavy partnerships, the event underscored a shift toward deep-tech integration in the Gulf’s financial sector.
