The American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases will host the presentations between November 5 and 9 in Denver. Dr. Jinlin Hou of Southern Medical University is scheduled to discuss the durability of AHB-137 in patients previously treated with nucleos(t)ide analogues on November 8. Later that same day, Dr. Junqi Niu from the First Hospital of Jilin University will present findings regarding the persistence of functional cures in treatment-naïve participants who received AHB-137 monotherapy.
Chris Yang, co-founder and chief scientific officer of AusperBio, described the selection of these abstracts as a significant milestone in the company’s efforts to establish a functional cure for the virus. AHB-137, developed through the firm’s proprietary Med-Oligo platform, functions by suppressing hepatitis B surface antigen production and stimulating immune reactivation. The drug is currently undergoing a Phase 3 trial in China, marking a shift toward late-stage development as the company pursues a global commercialization strategy.
