Hiromi Asai Brings Akatsuki Collection to Los Angeles Fashion Week

Hiromi Asai’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection, titled Akatsuki — Before the Dawn, draws inspiration from the fleeting moments before sunrise. Since shifting her focus from authentic kimonos to contemporary menswear in 2017, Asai has collaborated with Japanese artisans to integrate traditional weaving techniques into modern, structured silhouettes. This LA iteration marks a significant expansion from her previous runway shows in New York and Paris, incorporating entirely new designs alongside archival pieces previously unseen on the West Coast.

The lineup emphasizes sharp tailoring and dramatic forms, reflecting the designer's intent to capture the energy of the local market.
