Futian Designers Bring Shenzhen Heritage to Milan Fashion Week

Under the arches of Milan's Rotonda della Besana, the Shenzhen Futian District fashion delegation returned to the international stage on September 22, 2026. Three major Chinese brands—Laurèl, IDPAN, and YINER—unveiled their Spring/Summer 2027 collections, blending Eastern aesthetics with global design sensibilities to bridge the gap between two fashion capitals.

The showcase highlighted a growing synergy between the Greater Bay Area and European markets. Laurèl leaned into its Munich-born Bauhaus roots, utilizing architectural tailoring to explore the intersection of precision and history. IDPAN countered the rise of mass-produced AI design by emphasizing human craftsmanship, while YINER drew inspiration from organic textures, translating natural motifs like stone and leaves into contemporary womenswear.

This presentation marks a significant milestone for Futian, a district currently anchored by 2,600 fashion enterprises that generated RMB 566.3 billion in 2025. By hosting international institutions like the Istituto Marangoni and developing the Bay Area Fashion Center, the region has effectively transitioned from a manufacturing hub to a high-end design force. According to Dan Wang, President of the Bay Area Sustainable Fashion Alliance, the event serves as a platform to foster deeper collaboration between Chinese brands and the European industry, reinforcing the district’s ambition to establish a permanent footprint on the global calendar.
