The IAT-S2 program, which originated in the laboratory of Dr. Isaac Chan at UT Southwestern Medical Center, represents a shift in oncology research. Instead of focusing solely on cancer cells, the therapy targets hepatocytes to modify the liver microenvironment, effectively depriving metastatic cells of the conditions they need to survive. Preclinical studies in mice demonstrated a near-total elimination of liver metastases across five distinct models.
