SWFI to Host Inaugural I20 Summit in Miami Targeting $5 Trillion Investment

The five-day event convenes global sovereign wealth funds, pension managers, and central bank reserve officials to engage directly with American economic development authorities. By aligning international investors with state-level governors, the summit seeks to bypass traditional hurdles, focusing on sectors ranging from energy and LNG to advanced manufacturing, critical minerals, and digital assets. Organizers view the timing as a strategic window to synchronize long-term global capital with domestic infrastructure needs.

Unveiled at the iBRICS 2026 conference in New Delhi, the initiative targets allocators from the European Union, the African Union, and key allied nations including Singapore, Qatar, and the UAE. SWFI Chairman Lakshmi Narayanan Ramanujam noted that while the G20 dictates macroeconomic direction, the I20 serves as the venue for capital deployment decisions. According to SWFI advisor Chip Rogers, the gathering provides a unique opportunity for American states to present permitted, ready-to-finance projects directly to the world’s largest institutional allocators in a single setting.
