PhytoHealth CEO Angel Lee Honored for Advances in Cancer Fatigue Care

Angel Lee, CEO of Taiwan-based PhytoHealth Corporation, has been named among the country’s Ten Outstanding Young Women. The award recognizes her role in spearheading PG2, the world’s first prescription drug approved specifically for moderate to severe cancer-related fatigue, and her commitment to advancing clinical standards for supportive cancer care.

PhytoHealth CEO Angel Lee Honored for Advances in Cancer Fatigue Care

Derived from the refined polysaccharides of Astragalus membranaceus, PG2 represents a milestone as Taiwan’s first approved botanical new drug. Beyond its clinical application, the treatment is now covered under Taiwan’s National Health Insurance for eligible breast cancer patients. Lee’s work has been instrumental in shifting cancer-related fatigue from an overlooked side effect to a condition requiring active medical management, culminating in the creation of Taiwan’s first clinical guidelines for the issue.

Lee, who holds degrees from National Taiwan University and Carnegie Mellon, previously built her career at Deloitte and Janssen before pivoting to biotechnology. With a solid regulatory and clinical foundation established in Taiwan, she is now steering PhytoHealth toward international partnerships. The company aims to leverage its proprietary refined Astragalus polysaccharide platform to bring its therapeutic innovations to global healthcare markets.
