Legacy Distribution Acquires Global Powerhouse Vision Films

What began as a professional mentorship between two industry leaders has culminated in a major market consolidation, as Legacy Distribution moves to acquire the global content powerhouse Vision Films. The merger unites two expansive libraries, creating a unified entity that will continue to operate under the Vision Films brand.

Legacy Distribution Acquires Global Powerhouse Vision Films

Dana Webber, CEO of Legacy Distribution, will head the expanded company, while Vision Films founder Lise Romanoff transitions into a consulting role. Romanoff is set to represent the firm at the American Film Market this November. The acquisition integrates a massive catalog of independent films, television series, and documentaries that currently reach audiences in more than 190 countries.

The combined portfolio brings together Legacy’s true-crime and reality programming—including titles like Crime Stories and Restaurant Takeover—with Vision’s diverse library of narrative features and acclaimed documentaries such as Hired Gun and Gandhi. As a primary VOD aggregator, the new entity maintains direct supply lines to major global TVOD, SVOD, and AVOD platforms.

Financial and legal support for the transaction was provided by California Bank & Trust, with The Mager Law Firm and Harris Tulchin & Associates serving as exclusive legal advisors to Legacy and Vision, respectively. Errol Antzis acted as the exclusive investment consultant for the acquisition.
