The index, which utilizes regulatory call report data to quantify institutional performance, evaluates three primary pillars: interest rates for savers, borrowing costs, and the utility of member services. This measurement provides a standardized benchmark for credit unions nationwide to track their impact on personal financial health.
Veridian has maintained a position in the top 1% of the industry for years, holding a top-10 ranking since the final quarter of 2022. The institution previously dominated the index with a seven-quarter winning streak between 2017 and 2019. It remains the only credit union headquartered in Iowa, Nebraska, or Minnesota to reach the first-place ranking within the last five years.
"This recognition reflects that we are staying true to our purpose of helping members build stronger financial futures," said Veridian President and CEO Renee Christoffer. Founded in 1934, the cooperative now operates 32 branches across the Midwest and the Twin Cities, focusing on returning earnings to members through competitive product pricing and personalized financial guidance.
