FedEx Places $300 Million Order for 2,000 Harbinger Electric Trucks

The vehicles are scheduled for delivery by the end of 2027, serving as direct replacements for conventional diesel models in FedEx pickup and delivery operations across the United States and Canada. This expansion follows a successful pilot program and a prior investment by FedEx in Harbinger’s $160 million Series C equity round. Harbinger plans to complete the full production and deployment of the order within 18 months, with local support from the Kaizen Automotive Group for the Canadian fleet.

Beyond fleet modernization, the transition offers significant long-term financial incentives. Harbinger projects that each electric truck will save approximately $20,000 in annual fuel costs compared to diesel counterparts. Over a standard 20-year service life, the 2,000-vehicle order is expected to yield $800 million in total fuel savings while preventing the emission of over 1.7 million tons of CO2. John Harris, Harbinger’s CEO, noted that the order validates the economic viability of electric vehicles in real-world, high-volume logistics. To improve driver conditions, the new trucks feature upgraded suspension, advanced safety assistance systems, and a 42-foot turning radius designed for maneuvering through dense urban environments.
