A 30-foot hat bar and a 58-foot premium wall anchor the new Cavender's destination in Springfield, Missouri, which opened today at 3401 E. Ridgeview St. Marking the retailer’s 150th storefront, the location serves as a specialized hub featuring over 4,000 hats and 400 distinct styles.

The shop emphasizes custom fitting and professional shaping, utilizing a row of six commercial steamers where staff can personalize bands and add branded initials. According to store manager Carson Armstrong, who brings a decade of experience to the role, the focus remains on individualizing the hat-wearing experience for every customer. The inventory spans major industry brands including Resistol, American Hat Co., and Serratelli, alongside Cavender’s own private label.

Clay Cavender oversaw the store's design, integrating historical elements such as displays tracing Western hat silhouettes from the late 1800s to the present. The interior features unique installations, including a chandelier crafted from 40 vintage hats and a large-scale American flag composed of 156 custom felt pieces. The space also highlights 12 replica hats honoring figures ranging from Annie Oakley and John Wayne to George Strait and Lainey Wilson.

This Springfield location is the retailer's fourth in Missouri. A formal ribbon-cutting ceremony with Mike and Clay Cavender is scheduled for Friday, October 2, at 1 p.m. Operating hours are set for Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
