The Manhattan-based system excelled across multiple categories, with its network of over 400 ambulatory practices securing the No. 1 position among 70 participating physician groups. These rankings, issued by the healthcare performance firm Vizient, rely on rigorous data regarding patient experience, infection control, and care efficiency. The system's broader footprint also performed strongly, as NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island secured the No. 3 spot, while NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn reached No. 6 in the Large, Specialized Complex Care cohort.

Alec C. Kimmelman, dean of NYU Grossman School of Medicine and CEO of NYU Langone Health, credited the achievement to a system-wide focus on safety standards. This recognition arrives alongside other industry accolades, including multiple A safety ratings from the Leapfrog Group and top-tier rankings from U.S. News & World Report. Vizient has conducted this annual performance assessment since 2005, utilizing six specific domains of care to benchmark institutions nationwide.
