Basecamp Research Lands $140M to Scale AI-Designed Therapeutics

The financing, led by S32, draws support from a diverse coalition including NVIDIA, The Rockefeller Foundation, and the NATO Innovation Fund. This capital infusion arrives as the company shifts its focus toward in vivo cell therapies, aiming to replace expensive, labor-intensive manufacturing processes with more precise genomic integration. By utilizing the Trillion Gene Atlas—a massive dataset compiled through partnerships across 30 countries—the company’s EDEN models can generate therapeutic candidates for cancer and autoimmune diseases that were previously considered unreachable.

To manage this transition from model development to commercial application, Basecamp has appointed former Biogen executive Richard Pearce as Chief Business Officer. Andy Conrad, a general partner at S32 and former CEO of Google’s Verily, will join the board to oversee the platform's integration into the pharmaceutical landscape. With preclinical results already established across multiple modalities, the firm is now positioning its technology to redefine the cost and complexity of modern medicine.
