Alvarez & Marsal bolsters due diligence team with three senior hires

Greg Pope joins as Managing Director to lead software and technology diligence, transitioning from EY-Parthenon. Gonzalo Arana Santos, formerly a partner at Boston Consulting Group, arrives as a Senior Director to focus on business services and industrials. Meanwhile, Ola Bennerholm will relocate from A&M’s Sydney office to New York on November 1, 2026, bringing two decades of transaction experience to the U.S. market.

Since its launch in May 2026 by Jennifer Holland and Elizabeth Pearsons, the practice has grown to over 40 professionals. The firm’s strategy centers on a model where the same teams conducting the initial diligence remain to implement the business plan. This approach is designed to satisfy sponsors who, faced with shifting market conditions during the typical 2-4 month deal cycle, are moving earlier in the process to pressure-test opportunities for long-term value creation rather than simple point-in-time assessments.
