GenesisL1 Opens Scientific Ledger to Institutional Validators

By eliminating insider allocations and private token sales, GenesisL1 is pitching its decentralized Layer 1 network as a permanent archive for institutional research. Founder Mikhail Fedorov is now calling on universities and biobanks to move beyond renting access to data by running their own nodes and securing scientific provenance.

GenesisL1 Opens Scientific Ledger to Institutional Validators

The protocol, which operates as an EVM-compatible foundation for verifiable AI and scientific data, claims that traditional research infrastructure remains too reliant on proprietary control. GenesisL1 argues that by shifting stewardship to a public, permissionless network, institutions can ensure that knowledge outlives individual patrons or software providers. The platform emphasizes that its native L1 coin functions solely as a resource for governance and fees, deliberately avoiding the structure of equity or revenue-sharing models.

Evidence of the network's current state is pinned at block 13,690,968, documenting 33 active validators and 1,402 delegator addresses. According to the latest technical analysis, the protocol has seen a shift toward broader distribution since July, with the top-five voting power share dropping from 51.07% to 27.38%. The network's two-thirds coefficient—a metric of decentralization—has expanded from eight to 18 nodes. These figures, supported by 158 SHA-256-listed files, are intended to provide a measurable alternative to the opaque governance structures common in the blockchain sector.
