North Macedonia Secures Funding for Nation’s Largest Wind Farm

Envision Energy will supply 21 of its EN182-6.25 MW turbines for the initial phase, utilizing a 120-metre hub height to maximize energy yield. This deployment represents a major expansion of Envision’s footprint in Southeastern Europe, as the project serves as a proving ground for the bankability of its technology among top-tier international lenders. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the International Finance Corporation, and Erste Group Bank AG have all validated the project’s financial structure, signaling a shift toward commercially driven renewable energy models in the region.

Once completed across its three planned phases, the Štip facility will reach a total capacity of 396 MW. Beyond the immediate generation of clean electricity, the project is designed to provide long-term economic stability to local communities. Kane Xu, Senior Vice President at Envision Energy, noted that the site integrates proven hardware with a robust commercial framework, establishing a template for how renewable developments can improve regional energy resilience and competitiveness.
