STARTRADER’s STARCARES Initiative Supports SOS Children’s Village

The Go Vap facility currently serves approximately 160 children who have lost or are at risk of losing parental care. Each child received a curated gift set featuring lanterns, traditional cookies, and educational supplies. Beyond the festive celebration, STARTRADER delivered critical hygiene, cleaning, and pantry staples to the village houses, complemented by direct financial contributions earmarked for operating costs.

This donation arrives at a difficult juncture for the institution, which has faced mounting pressure since international aid began to decline in 2023. With funding commitments currently slated to conclude in 2026, the village relies on external partners to cover tuition fees, caregiver salaries, and basic infrastructure. Peter Karsten, CEO of STARTRADER, noted that the goal is to provide a steadier foundation for the caregivers, allowing them to move beyond short-term improvisation. Mr. Hoang Long, Director of the SOS Children’s Village, emphasized that the infusion of resources provides both immediate relief for household budgets and a vital sense of community recognition for the children.
