For nearly three decades, Meta Integration Technology operated primarily as an OEM provider, embedding its infrastructure into products from industry giants like IBM, Oracle, and Microsoft. With the release of v12, the company pivots to a direct enterprise model, introducing a concept they call MetadataOps. This approach treats metadata management as a continuous operational discipline rather than a series of isolated projects, addressing the risks of AI agents interpreting data inconsistently across disparate tools.
The platform’s core innovation, the Semantic Hub, allows organizations to reverse-engineer existing assets from BI tools such as Tableau or Looker and recompile them into vendor-neutral, native formats. Because these definitions are deployed directly into databases and BI environments, the system avoids proprietary execution engines that often bottleneck query paths. Founder and CEO Christian Bremeau notes that as enterprises shift toward agentic AI, the danger of agents picking arbitrary definitions from fragmented sources has become a critical point of failure. MetaKarta v12 aims to resolve this by providing a unified, version-controlled foundation that maintains audit-ready provenance for every metric, ensuring that finance dashboards and AI agents return the same results.
