This shift is corroborated by industry research; roughly one-third of travelers now actively seek out calmer environments, while over a quarter choose less-touristy locations specifically to manage costs and avoid the friction of overtourism.

To accommodate these preferences, the market is seeing a rise in demand for single-city hubs that allow for slower exploration of surrounding areas. Countries such as Slovenia, Montenegro, Albania, and Croatia are gaining traction as viable alternatives to Europe's overcrowded hubs. Furthermore, logistical services like private chauffeured transfers are becoming essential for those who want to navigate regional gems without the stress of complex public transit, effectively turning the journey itself into a core component of the vacation.
