Don Garrison Joins Lawrence Semiconductor as COO to Scale Operations

Lawrence Semiconductor has appointed former Littelfuse executive Don Garrison as General Manager and Chief Operating Officer. Based in Tempe, the manufacturer of engineered silicon and germanium materials tapped Garrison to oversee engineering and production as the company scales to meet rising demand in the quantum computing and defense sectors.

Don Garrison Joins Lawrence Semiconductor as COO to Scale Operations

Garrison reports directly to CEO Ali Torabi, bringing over 25 years of semiconductor manufacturing experience to the role. Prior to this appointment, he served as Vice President of Global Operations for the Semiconductor Business Unit at Littelfuse, where he managed supply chains and production across eight international sites. His resume also includes leadership positions at NXP Semiconductors and GlobalFoundries, as well as a decade-long tenure at Intel.

Lawrence Semiconductor serves a niche market as one of the few global merchant foundries capable of producing isotopically enriched silicon-28 and germanium-tin (GeSn) epitaxial materials. With 14 reactors operating continuously in a Class 100 cleanroom, the firm currently produces the foundational layers for advanced photonic and sensing devices. Torabi noted that Garrison’s specific background in epitaxial deposition—a notoriously difficult manufacturing process—will be critical as the company transitions from specialized production to higher-volume output for its defense and automotive clients.
