Truist Bank to Redeem $850 Million in Subordinated Notes

Charlotte-based Truist Bank announced plans to redeem the entirety of its $850 million subordinated notes, originally scheduled to mature on October 30, 2026. The financial institution set the redemption date for September 30, 2026, effectively clearing a significant portion of its outstanding debt ahead of the planned maturity.

The redemption price covers 100% of the principal amount, supplemented by accrued and unpaid interest up to the redemption date. Once September 30 passes, interest accrual on these notes will stop entirely. Truist will process all payments through The Depository Trust Company facilities to ensure a streamlined transition for noteholders.

Truist Financial Corporation, which maintains total assets of $556 billion as of mid-2026, continues to operate as a top-10 commercial bank in the United States. This move follows the company's broader strategy of managing its capital structure across its diverse wholesale and consumer banking divisions.
