Sentry AI Reaches 100-Unit Milestone for Solar Construction Security

Construction sites remain prime targets for equipment and copper theft, yet hiring human guards is often cost-prohibitive. Sunnyvale-based Sentry AI has now deployed its 100th SolarGuard trailer, an autonomous system that combines solar-powered hardware with real-time remote human intervention to secure off-grid project locations nationwide.

Sentry AI Reaches 100-Unit Milestone for Solar Construction Security

The SolarGuard units operate independently of local infrastructure, requiring no on-site power or wired internet connections. By integrating Cloud AI with a 24/7 operations center, the system identifies unauthorized activity and alerts remote agents who validate potential threats within seconds. This human-in-the-loop approach allows for immediate responses, including the dispatch of law enforcement when necessary. According to the company, these units handle an average of four suspicious events per site each week, effectively curbing incidents that previously caused project delays.

For industry operators, the shift from traditional personnel to mobile AI trailers offers significant financial relief. Ravi N., a board member at CSMT, noted that the system provides comparable or superior protection at roughly one-fifth the cost of human guards while maintaining the flexibility to move as construction phases evolve. With the release of its v11 software, Sentry AI continues to position its autonomous agents as a scalable alternative to static security deployments in environments where traditional infrastructure is unavailable.
