Pacific Jazz Orchestra Honors Quincy Jones in Camarillo

Artistic Director Chris Walden, a seven-time Grammy nominee who counted Jones as a mentor, leads the 19-piece ensemble through a selection of the icon's most pivotal compositions. The program traces Jones' evolution from his early big band recordings, such as 1962’s The Quintessence, to his sophisticated collaborations with Frank Sinatra and Sarah Vaughan. The performance also highlights his transition into film scoring, featuring themes from The Pawnbroker and In the Heat of the Night.

Joining the orchestra, vocalists Nayanna Holley and Adam 'Aejaye' Jackson bring their extensive backgrounds in soul, R&B, and studio performance to the stage. Holley, a veteran of The Voice and American Idol, and Jackson, a multifaceted performer with a career spanning work with Stevie Wonder and David Foster, provide the vocal centerpiece for the afternoon. The concert is part of the Ventura Music Festival's 2026 Fall Series, running in Camarillo.
