The FLX Series integrates proven DC-DC converters and EMI filters into a ruggedized housing, supporting standard bus voltages of 28 V, 50 V, and 270 V. By offering output power ranging from 1 W to 5,000 W with up to 90% efficiency, the platform aims to reduce design risk while accelerating development cycles. According to Kevin Seaton, Advising Engineer at VPT, the series was built to optimize SWaP requirements while ensuring favorable lead times through standardized, prequalified hardware.
Built for performance in harsh environments, these units operate continuously between -55°C and +110°C without power derating. The hardware supports three mechanical configurations—vertical, horizontal, and stacked—to accommodate diverse platform constraints. For space-bound projects, radiation capabilities are tailored to specific needs, offering protection levels from 30 krad(Si) to 100 krad(Si). The assemblies are manufactured to meet stringent industry benchmarks, including SAE AS9100 and J-STD-001 Space Addendum standards.
