Little Diggers Sandbox Franchise Hits 50 Locations Nationwide

With over 50 franchise agreements signed across the U.S., the construction-themed playspace Little Diggers is scaling its model of low-stimulation, hands-on play. Founded in 2023 by Zach and Hannah Bowers, the venture has transformed a simple concept—sand and trucks—into a rapidly growing network targeting children seven and under.

The Dublin, Ohio-based company operates on the belief that childhood overstimulation stems from loud, crowded environments. Each site provides 1,200 square feet of play space equipped with over 200 custom toys and silica-free, non-toxic sand sourced from the Bahamas. Since its inception, the brand has welcomed more than 100,000 visitors, leveraging a lean startup approach refined by Zach Bowers during his previous tenure as a fintech CTO.

Expansion efforts have moved quickly since the launch of the company’s franchising arm in 2025. Current projects are underway in 21 states, including Florida, Texas, and Arizona, with plans to enter the California market soon. Beyond the sandboxes, the brand maintains a digital footprint of 130,000 followers and has secured partnerships with media entities like Paramount for the promotion of Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie. For parents, the spaces also offer a dedicated coffee service, aiming to balance child-focused engagement with adult amenities.
