Reckitt to Invest $600 Million in U.S. Innovation and Manufacturing

Reckitt is pouring up to $600 million into a multi-year overhaul of its U.S. infrastructure, aiming to consolidate its research capabilities while aggressively scaling production of flagship consumer health brands. The transformation focuses on integrating commercial and R&D teams in New Jersey and expanding a key facility in North Carolina.

Reckitt to Invest $600 Million in U.S. Innovation and Manufacturing

The company will establish a high-tech science and innovation center in New Jersey, designed to serve as a global hub for germ protection research. By housing disinfection, microbiology, and surface care teams under one roof, Reckitt intends to accelerate the transition from product concept to retail shelf. This shift reflects a strategic move to synchronize scientific discovery with commercial execution, ensuring that brands like Lysol remain responsive to shifting consumer hygiene trends.

In North Carolina, the company has increased its initial investment by 50% for its largest over-the-counter manufacturing site, now slated to open in the first half of 2027. This expanded footprint will significantly boost production volumes for Mucinex and Move Free, providing the manufacturing flexibility needed to meet rising demand. According to North America President Jérôme Lemaire, these upgrades are vital for maintaining the company's century-old legacy of trust with American families while modernizing its supply chain resilience.
