Hyroad Energy Expands Hydrogen Logistics Operations in Fontana

Announced at the Intermodal Association of North America 2026 Expo, the deal centralizes fleet support to bolster regional zero-emission drayage capabilities.

Hyroad Energy Expands Hydrogen Logistics Operations in Fontana

Hyroad Energy is embedding its services directly into the IMC Logistics yard, providing a consolidated solution for fuel supply and vehicle repairs. This move marks a strategic expansion for the provider, building on its previous infrastructure deployment in Santa Fe Springs. By establishing a presence within the IMC site, Hyroad aims to eliminate the logistical friction that has historically hindered the adoption of hydrogen fuel cell technology in commercial trucking.

Dmitry Serov, CEO of Hyroad Energy, noted that the collaboration serves as a practical demonstration that hydrogen is viable for daily operations beyond experimental pilot programs. For IMC Logistics, the partnership addresses the critical need for reliable maintenance and fuel access, which Pacific Region President Jim Gillis identified as a cornerstone for scaling their sustainable transportation offerings. The initiative allows IMC to integrate hydrogen assets into its broader portfolio of battery-electric and alternative-fuel logistics solutions.
