Goodwill of Delaware transforms donated textiles into high-fashion runway

The ECO Edit marks a shift for the Goodwill of Delaware & Delaware County, moving beyond standard thrift displays to showcase garments constructed entirely from upcycled inventory. Designers Dell Scott and Julieta Zavala will anchor the show alongside emerging talent from the University of Delaware and Delaware State University. By utilizing materials sourced directly from Goodwill’s own supply, participants aim to demonstrate that textile waste possesses untapped aesthetic potential.

Colleen Morrone, President & CEO of the organization, views the event as a bridge between environmental stewardship and social impact. While the runway highlights sustainable design, the proceeds and operational focus remain tied to Goodwill's workforce development programs. The event transforms an industrial site into a venue featuring a "Blue Carpet" experience and a pop-up boutique, allowing attendees to engage with sustainable shopping practices directly. Tickets are currently available via Eventbrite, with the evening serving as both a showcase for local creative talent and a demonstration of the economic value found in donated goods.
