Neal Couture Named CEO of Institute for Supply Management

Couture arrives at the Tempe-based association with over 25 years of experience in leading credentialing and educational entities. His most recent tenure as CEO of the American Society for Nondestructive Testing saw the organization expand its international footprint into India and the Middle East while growing annual revenue by 85.7 percent. His background also includes a 12-year stint as executive director of the National Contract Management Association and early career roles as a contracting officer for the U.S. Air Force and NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

Stacey Taylor, chair of the ISM Board of Directors, noted that Couture’s vision for member engagement and innovation aligns with the group’s mission to remain the primary voice for supply chain excellence. As he takes the helm, Couture will collaborate with interim CEO Debbie Fogel-Monnissen to manage the transition. He joins the organization as supply chain leaders grapple with rapid technological shifts and global economic uncertainty, challenges that define the current professional landscape for the association’s 200,000 global practitioners.
