TrueBridge Capital Raises $508 Million for Secondaries Fund

As venture-backed companies delay public listings and liquidity paths tighten, Chapel Hill-based TrueBridge Capital Partners has closed its second dedicated secondary fund at $508 million. The oversubscribed vehicle marks a significant scale-up from the firm’s $230 million debut fund in 2024, signaling heightened demand for private market exits.

The fund draws capital from a diverse base of foundations, endowments, pension funds, and family offices. By targeting both venture fund stakes and direct investments in private companies, TrueBridge aims to capitalize on the increasing necessity for liquidity among early employees and shareholders. The firm leverages its two-decade history within the venture ecosystem to secure access to deals often shielded from broader market competition.

Andrew Winslow, a partner at the firm, noted that the evolution of the venture market has repositioned secondaries from a niche activity to a core component of portfolio management. The firm’s strategy relies on its unique visibility into thousands of companies, bolstered by its longstanding role as the data partner for the Forbes Midas List. With $15 billion in total assets under management, TrueBridge intends to utilize this deep institutional context to maintain selectivity as the secondary market matures.
