Arnold Tsang, the creative force behind the iconic character roster of Overwatch, is pivoting to serialized storytelling. The series arrives as a free-to-read monthly publication on the official Azuki website, with new installments appearing on the third Thursday of each month. A cinematic trailer accompanying the debut highlights the high-stakes conflict, pitting the protagonist, Shao, against forces that threaten to tear her reality apart. For Tsang, this project represents a long-gestating creative ambition, marking his return to the comic medium after years of shaping the visual identity of Blizzard Entertainment’s blockbuster shooter.

Alex Q. Xu, CEO of Azuki Labs, noted that the manga serves as the narrative anchor for the company’s broader creative ecosystem. This expansion follows the recent introduction of an Azuki trading card game, signaling a strategic push to build an interconnected franchise across gaming and traditional print media. Fans got a preliminary look at the project during Anime Expo 2026, where Tsang participated in live drawing sessions and offered early access to the opening chapter. Readers can access the full series starting at 9:00 AM PDT on September 17.
