Playsaurus Releases Hand-Drawn Idle Battler Orc Incremental

Drawing inspiration from the 90s real-time strategy aesthetic, developer Nice Ride and publisher Playsaurus have launched Orc Incremental on Steam. The title arrives as a long-haul idle game, moving away from short-session trends to offer a complex, sprite-based experience that leans heavily into tactical formation drafting.

Players begin with a single unit, building a warband through card-based drafts of units and totems. Success hinges on positioning and synergy rather than active combat input, as armies fight autonomously. When players hit a progression wall, they trigger a Dark Rebirth, resetting the run to secure permanent upgrades across a tree containing more than 250 nodes. According to Playsaurus CEO Austin Oblouk, the game is intentionally designed to outlast the weekend-long play sessions common in the current incremental market.

Nice Ride, a three-person collective, prioritized a nostalgic visual identity by hand-drawing every sprite. The art style consciously mimics the late-90s look of titles such as Warcraft II and Dungeon Keeper, intentionally utilizing clashing color palettes consistent with that era. The game features nine distinct chieftain bloodlines, milestone bosses with unique attack patterns, and robust offline progression. It is available for $7.99 with a 15 percent launch-week discount, shipping without advertisements or in-app purchases.
