Huawei Debuts Mate XT 2 with LogicFolding Tau Chip and Tri-Fold Design

The Mate XT 2 introduces the Kirin 9050 Pro chipset, a hardware shift that Huawei claims yields a 42% boost in overall performance over its predecessor. This processing power supports the new HarmonyOS 7, which enables parallel window management and native on-device AI operations via the Pangu 30B-A2B large model. The device distinguishes itself through the Xuanwu Ultra-Durable Tri-Fold Architecture, utilizing a multi-layered composite screen and an Advanced Precision Hinge System 2.0 to maintain structural integrity while achieving IP58/59 dust and water resistance.

Beyond raw performance, the handset emphasizes privacy and medical utility. It is the first foldable to feature a hardware-level Smart Shield Privacy Screen, which maintains consistent resolution even when privacy modes are active. Additionally, the phone includes ECG analysis software certified as a Class II Medical Device, allowing users to perform measurements directly via the unfolded display. Photography capabilities have been overhauled with the True-to-Color Camera 3.0, designed to filter infrared interference and support 18 EV dynamic range video. The device will be available starting September 12, with a base price of RMB 19,999.
