Under the new memorandum, city officials are tasked with identifying eligible residences and managing the technical transition. The program covers the entire process, from initial consultations to the final installation of gas-heating systems by qualified contractors. Almaty Mayor Darkhan Satybaldy stated that this targeted approach addresses the varying needs of individual households, which often serve as significant sources of pollution during the heating season.
Ainur Karbozova, CEO of the Foundation, described the funding as a commitment to modernizing urban infrastructure and improving daily living standards for families currently reliant on solid fuels. This initiative aligns with the organization’s history of civic projects in the region, including the reconstruction of the Almaty Botanical Garden, upgrades to the National Central Museum, and the establishment of the Asyl Miras Autism Centers.
