A+E Global Media Taps Comcast to Centralize Content Distribution

A+E Global Media has signed a multi-year deal with Comcast Technology Solutions to overhaul its digital delivery pipeline. By adopting the Comcast MediaExpress platform, the media giant aims to consolidate the ingest, packaging, and distribution of its extensive library of brands, including A&E, HISTORY, and Lifetime, across global digital platforms.

A+E Global Media Taps Comcast to Centralize Content Distribution

The partnership shifts A+E Global Media to a single-point ingest model, replacing fragmented workflows with a 24/7 managed service. Comcast MediaExpress, a core component of the broader Comcast Media360 portfolio, handles the complex task of preparing video-on-demand assets and metadata for delivery to major outlets, including Amazon, Apple Channels, and various cable providers like Cox and DIRECTV.

Prakash Patel, Senior Vice President of Technology Strategy at A+E Global Media, emphasized that the move is designed to improve scalability and ensure programming reaches distribution partners with greater speed. For Comcast, the agreement highlights the utility of its Media360 suite, which is increasingly positioned as a unified solution for broadcasters looking to reduce the technical friction inherent in modern multi-platform video delivery. The companies plan to highlight these integrated capabilities at the upcoming 2026 IBC Show in Amsterdam.
