Deutsche Bank Settles Multi-Million Euro Lawsuit with Former Banker

A high-stakes legal battle over reputational damage concluded on Monday as Deutsche Bank reached a confidential settlement with former executive Dario Schiraldi. The withdrawal of the lawsuit, which sought 152 million euros in damages, effectively cancels a court hearing that had been scheduled to begin this Thursday in Frankfurt.

Schiraldi was among a group of former employees who initiated legal action against Germany’s largest lender, citing professional harm linked to a controversial 2008 business deal involving Italy's Monte dei Paschi. While the financial terms of the agreement remain undisclosed, the bank noted that the payout will have a minimal impact on its third-quarter earnings. A representative for Schiraldi did not immediately provide comment on the resolution, which covers all previous claims and allegations brought against the bank and its staff.
